Our Founders
JOSEPH TUREK, Managing Partner
Joe received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) in 1979 from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management in 1982. He has been involved in manufacturing his entire career. He holds five patents involving high-performance microwave telecommunications circuit board technologies, and has been a registered professional engineer and a member of the IPC and IEEE.
He cut his teeth on engineering design, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma quality control in bare printed circuit fabrication. By 1980, he was running the company and successfully purchased the assets from his parents in 1988 and renamed the company Poly Circuits. Five years later, he took the company public under the name M-Wave. With the rise in cellular communications, Mr. Turek grew M-Wave to a $100M company. The next 5 years created 4 unique businesses in Restaurant Controls, Electric Guitar Music Products, Counter Hearing Aids, and Low-Cost Asian Contract Assembly.
Along his path, Mr. Turek used his entrepreneurial talents in engineering and management to create companies that span Restaurants, Microbreweries, Microwave Power Amplifiers, Electronic Components, Microwave Printed Circuits, Restaurant Control Circuits, Airline Charter Services, Air Purifiers, Wireless Power Distribution, Music Products, Hearing Aids, Distribution of Cleaning Supplies, Medical Equipment Refurbishment and Domestic and Asian Contract Manufacturing.
Finally, after a career of 50 years in manufacturing, Mr. Turek successfully sold these entities in 2020 to allow him the freedom to continue sharing his decades of experience with other similar business owners.
JAMES MONTESANTOS, Managing Partner
Jim received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1986 from the University of Southern California. He embarked on a thirty-five-year career in all aspects of food service management as owner/operator of independent restaurants, banquet halls, microbrewery/brew pubs, and more. Developed and owned entirely new concepts in upscale casual dining, where he was responsible for raising capital, design & construction, financial planning, and full management of operations. Quoted in Industry-leading Nation's Restaurant News, "It’s all about the customer experience. Only through thoughtful and responsible leadership can your team achieve that common goal better than your competition.” He proceeded to consult individual operators, manage the operations of casual dining concepts for others, and start a P&C insurance brokerage.
His goals now are to help his clients achieve their own success. In recent years, as a junior member of Goldberg Heinze Business Advisors, he strengthened his consulting services to assist clients with strategic M&A, joint ventures, business sales and consolidation, strategic planning, and business valuations.
He is very excited about this opportunity to leverage his modest accomplishments into the actual data and details that his clients need. To genuinely help them maximize their position and ultimately reach their goals and/or find their exit.
